Detailed Itinerary

Early morning at 6:00 am, after your early breakfast from your hotel either in Kabale or Kisoro you will be picked by your tour guide and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga. When you arrive at the park headquarters you will be assembled for briefing, thereafter you will be grouped in a group of 8, though sometimes only 2 or 3 or 4 trackers may trek; this is based on the season, 1 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda, remember to pack enough water for drinking as well as snacks or packed lunch since the trek is so strenuous and may take longer than anticipated depending on how far gorillas have moved.

The Park rangers will accompany you to the rain forest to begin your search for the mountain gorillas. Trekking can be tough sometimes, so one needs good hiking boots and a walking stick. You also need to be physically fit for strenuous. The trekkers should also carry a small back enough to carry the necessities, raincoats/ jackets since the weather is unpredictable.

After an hour’s trek or more so and you meet the gorillas, your rangers will guide and show you how to handle and behave while with them, mainly by standing 7 meters away from the gorillas as you enjoy viewing them. Best Time To Visit – Uganda

The best time to visit Uganda is from June to August and December to February, which are the Dry seasons. Wildlife viewing is at its peak then. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Uganda. The habitat of rainforests is, by default, very wet, and you can’t avoid rain completely. However, after heavy rain, the skies often open up to bright sunshine.

Is it safe to travel to Uganda?

Uganda is a safe country to visit, especially when your part of an organized game drive with private guides, as you will be with us. These tours are designed to enhance your safety and provide you with a well-guided experience. There are, of course, some places to avoid in big cities like Kampala or Entebbe. But – as with everywhere else in the world – you’ll be fine by taking some precautions. Just some examples to be on the safe side, pun intended, don’t explore the city at night without a driver or guide, keep your valuables close to you, avoid wearing prominent and visible jewelry, and leave some things like passports in the hotel safe.
